We’re very excited to confirm the Medsoc Uni Gym Discount is back this academic year!
This discount is huge, 20% off annual memberships! That’s £38 off, £152 rather than £190. All Medsoc Lifetime and Annual members are eligible for this discount.
This discount is live now and will be live until 31st October 2024. The gym membership will be valid till 31st July 2025.
Please see below for a breakdown of how to access your discount:
- Ensure you are a current lifetime or annual Medsoc member
- Visit the Medsoc SU Page and purchase the item “Medsoc Uni Gym Discounted Annual Membership” totalling £152 at the bottom of the page- https://www.cardiffstudents.com/activities/society/cardiffmedsoc/gymmembership/
- Your gym membership will NOT be immediately active. Please wait for my email confirmation that your gym membership is live. This will likely be 1-2 working days post-purchase.
- Once you’ve received email confirmation from me that your gym membership is live, you’re ready to go! Please have your Student ID card with you on your visit to the gym.

Which gym facilities can I use with my discounted Medsoc Gym Membership?
You can access the Fitness and Conditioning Centre (Senghennydd Road), Sports Training Village (Talybont), Fitness classes at Studio 49. To book exercise classes please download the uni gym app once your gym membership is live- https://www.cardiff.ac.uk/community/use-our-facilities/sport/fitness-exercise/cardiff-university-sport-mobile-app
I’ve purchased the £152 discounted Medsoc Uni gym membership on the Medsoc Page, SU Website. Can I immediately access the gym?
No, you can’t. Please await email confirmation from me, Oli Silgram. Once you’ve received email confirmation that your gym membership is active, you’re all good to go. This lag time will be no more than 1-2 working days. This is because I need to manually inform the Uni gym of each discounted membership purchased, so they can then register this onto the gym system.
I’ve got my email verification that my Uni gym membership is live. What do I do now?
You’re all set to go. To get started visit one of the Uni gym’s sites (listed above) with your university student ID, and explain to the staff member at reception you have received email confirmation your Medsoc discounted Uni Gym Discount is now live. They’ll be able to explain how the Uni Sports App works, register your student id card, give you an introductory tour, and help you with any questions you have.
I’m a Medsoc Member but the SU system won’t let me purchase the £152 discounted gym membership on the Medsoc Page?
We’ve set the item so only Medsoc members can purchase it through our online SU portal. If you are a Medsoc members, but it won’t let you purchase the item there has likely been a lapse in the SU system. Please email SU Societies with your student number and evidence of your Medsoc Membership purchase (you would have received this at the time you purchased your Medsoc membership). Please cc in me and medsoc (medsoc@cardiff.ac.uk). Please do this now, as we won’t be able to extend the offer past 31st October 2024 and it usually takes 3-5 working days for SU Societies to look into queries.
I’ve already purchased my Uni gym membership for this academic year at full price. Can I get a refund, and re-purchase my uni gym membership at the discounted Medsoc price?
Unfortunately, we’re unable to refund you if you’ve already purchased your Uni gym membership at the full price, so you can access the discounted Medsoc price.
Can I purchase the discounted Medsoc Uni Gym discount in person at the gym?
No, you can’t. To purchase please buy the product from the Medsoc SU Page.
